2009 Boston Harbor Striper Shootout

June 19th and 20th

New Prizes

Win, Place and Show

This year’s 11th annual Boston Harbor Striper Shootout will be held Saturday June 20th. This one day fishing tournament kicks off Friday June 19th with a mandatory Captain’s meeting and BBQ at Admiral’s Hill Marina in Chelsea. The tournament runs Saturday, 5 am to 5 pm. Last year Captains and crews from over 40 boats fished the waters from Cape Ann to Situate for the top prize money. Traditionally a winner-take–all derby, this year prizes are awarded to the top three finishers. $3,500 for first place, $1,000 second and $500 third place.

New Kayak Division

Cash prizes for win, place and show are not the only changes in this year’s tournament, this year the field is opened to include a Kayak division. Top prize in the division is a 17’ Looksha Kayak. Those fishing from Kayaks who catch and release should be prepared to document their catch with a cell phone camera or digital camera.

Father’s Day Special

Traditionally held close to father’s day, the tournament has an increasing number of fathers, sons and daughters participating, in honor of this increasing tradition this year’s Boston Harbor Shootout will hold a kids raffle for prizes. And all kids get a free T Shirt.

Veterans Northeast Outreach Center

Proceeds from this year’s Shootout will be donated to the Joshua Eaton Elementary School in Reading for their annual penny drive that supports the Veterans North East Outreach Center in Haverhill.
