a true local legEnd

At age 3 Reuben “Pete” Santini caught his first fish in a small pond just outside of Boston, Massachusetts. At 12, he spent all summer catching Striped Bass in every nook and cranny in Boston Harbor and the surrounding Islands. He has been 'hooked' ever since.

Fast forward 55 years and Pete is a professional angler known the world over for his skill on the water. From Gloucester to the Galapagos, from Blue Marlin to Bluefin Tuna, there are few fish and fewer techniques that he hasn’t mastered.

But Pete’s childhood passion for Boston Harbor has never faded. Every summer you will still find Pete in and around the Harbor Islands on the local bass bite. There is no better resource for a local angler than his small tackle shop in Everett - Fishing Fanatics. Especially if you’re lucky enough to catch him there in person telling stories and tying Zobo rigs.

Almost everyone who fishes around Boston knows of Pete. Through the years he has appeared on ESPN, NESN and Fox Sports. He has been featured in Salt Water Sportsman, Sports Illustrated, In-Fisherman and On The Water. And if you’ve read a Boston area fishing report in any local fishing publication, chances are they got that info from Pete.
